Luis Eduardo Acosta Medina

Luis Eduardo Acosta Medina is a Civil Engineer, specialist in Transportation and Master in Engineering and Transportation from Univerdidad Nacional de Colombia. He is currently the coordinator of the Sustainable Urban Mobility Unit (UMUS) of the Ministry of Transportation.
He has nearly 30 years of work experience in the areas of management, direction, planning, programming, monitoring and control of road infrastructure projects.
Within his extensive work experience he has served as Coordinator of the Traffic and Transportation Planning Group, and advisor to the Technical Undersecretary of the Secretariat of Traffic and Transportation of Bogota; Technical Deputy Director of Road Network Maintenance and Technical Director of Maintenance at the Institute of Urban Development (IDU). He has also provided his professional services at the District Planning Secretariat of Bogota and the Ministry of Transportation of Colombia.
He has also been Technical Manager of the Chía - Mosquera - La Mesa - Girardot Concession. And consultant in the area of traffic, transportation and road infrastructure with different companies in the private sector.
His professional work has alternated with academia being a teacher at the Universidad Distrital Francisco José de Caldas and has been characterized by having different academic distinctions by being the best average in the second semester of 2018 in the Master's Degree in Engineering - Transportation; best academic average in the first semester of the specialization of Transportation; monitor of the Academic Unit of Transportation of Universidad Nacional de Colombia; he also had a nomination for the National Construction Award in 1995 and was a scholar of the Academic Unit of Geotechnics of Univerdidad Nacional de Colombia.
