Integral Management System of Medellin's Metro

Certified with international standards

In 2000, METRO's quality management system was certified in the international standard NTC-ISO 9002:1994, covering the metro-type mass public transportation service, ratifying our commitment to provide quality service.

This certification puts the Company on a par with the most important mass transit systems in the world.

During the following years, certification has been maintained, extending the scope to the aerial cable, Tram and BRT (Bus Rapid Transit) transportation systems and achieving certifications for the environmental management and occupational health and safety systems.

  • Recertification in November 2003 in ISO 9001:2000.
  • Recertification in November 2006 in ISO 9001:2000 with expansion of the scope to include Metrocable.
  • Recertification in November 2009 in ISO 9001:2008.
  • Recertification in 2015 in ISO 9001:2008 with scope expansion to include BRT (Bus Rapid Transit) technology.
  • Migration in 2017 to ISO 9001:2015, with scope expansion to include Tram technology.
  • Recertification in 2021 in ISO 9001:2015.
  • Anticipated recertification in 2022 in ISO 9001:2015.

ISO 45001 Occupational Health and Safety Management System

  • OHSAS 18001:1999 certification as of July 4, 2007.
  • Recertification as of May 2009 in OHSAS 18001:2007.
  • Migration in 2021 to ISO 45001:2018
  • Anticipated recertification in 2022 to ISO 45001:2018.

NTC 5801 Management System for Research, Development and Innovation (I+D+i)

  • Certification as of September 30, 2022 in NTC 5801:2018.
