The positive national and international impact of the introduction of sustainable mobility technologies for passenger transportation (urban train, aerial cables, BRT bus system and tramway), operated by METRO as part of the integrated public mass passenger transportation system, has awakened the interest of many organizations and cities seeking an approach to the methodology implemented by METRO, which turned these projects into drivers of integral development with social value for the communities, especially for those with unmet basic needs of direct influence of the systems.
METRO's experience in social management has become a practical theoretical reference for the construction of new models of participation and appropriation of future community spaces for public benefit. From the moment new mobility projects and complementary works to the mass public transportation systems are formulated, the consolidation of a company-community co-responsibility that contributes to the construction of the city is proposed.
